Last week we discussed about picking your wedding date. Now that you and your husband to be agreed on a day or at least choose one based on the availability of your venue, let’s talk about one of the most important vendors to hire…. Your Wedding Manager also known as month of/day of coordinator.
OK, I know you’re wondering do I really need a Wedding Planner/Manager. The answer is yes. Not because I want your business, but your wedding day comes only once. Do you really want to be stressed out getting all your decorations up, escort cards arranged, and still try to get your make-up and hair done before your pictures? I hope your answer is NO! Wedding planners and Wedding Managers are more than just a vendor, we are your confidant, educator and most of all…the best person to help save you money.
You don’t want to hire just anyone. You need the best of the best. Most coordinators have a list of preferred vendors. Some may require you to use their preferred vendors and other may recommend it. Why you ask? Our lists consist of vendors we’ve worked with. We know their quality, their professionalism, and they usually help save you money. Some vendors offer a discount when hiring them through your planner/coordinator. I know all mine do, which in the end…. Saves you money.
Being a professional, we’ve seen some really bad vendors. One wedding had a caterer actually show up during cocktail hour even after calling her 10 time during the ceremony. I’ve had a DJ show up in jeans and sneakers to a cocktail attire wedding. Now you may say to yourself, that’s not going to happen to me. But it will. Maybe not that exactly, but something can and will happen.
No wedding ever goes perfectly. That’s why you hire us. You should never know that something crazy is happening on your Wedding day. Our job is YOU. To take of you and to make sure everything from start to finish is PERFECT. Well at least seams like it.
The importance of you
Your wedding is the most important job for us. You get one shot. No do overs. So take my advice even if you don’t hire us, plan to hire someone that is a professional not just a hobbyist charging you $300. Let us take care of you and take the STRESS, so you can enjoy the ONE special day with your true love.
P.S. There is no such thing as a day of coordinator. A professional Wedding manger/ Month of Coordinator reads every contract. They complete several venue walk through’s to ensure your vision becomes a reality. We call all your vendors several times to determine a detailed timeline so everyone is on one page. And lastly, they deal with all the BULL/complaints/issues that come up during the night, so you and your guest have the time of your lives. Don’t leave it up to Aunt Suzzie.
If you haven’t thought about hiring a planner/coordinator, look at your budget. Find ways to cut it, so you can invest in someone who will provide a service that truly can make a different on your wedding day. Don’t look back one, two, even ten years from today only to remember how stressed you were. Let us make you wedding day FUN, STRESS FREE & MEMORABLE.
