Let’s get your glow on!
Fun Friday has begun and I’m so excited to share with you one of my favorite party designs of all time. Just last month Party Designs by Jax, Raleigh’s, NC top event planner spent countless hours creating flower balloons & neon paint splatter on everything. It came out perfect for Samara’s 11th birthday party, Glow Time!
One thing I love the most about my career is working with clients like you. Creative mind clients… clients who like to think outside of the box and gives me a challenge. And my client Tao does just that. I had fun bringing back the 80’s for night in a not so tacky way.
When we sat down to talk about her daughters 11th birthday she had only 3 requests… 1. everything needs to GLOW! 2. it needs to co-inside with a pool party and 3. we want flower balloon designs surrounding the sweet treats table (we do one for all her parties).
Ok, so 1 and 2 not a problem but 3, hummmm let’s see what we can come up with. So normally I’d hire a professional for something like this, but this time I wanted to give it a try. See I’ve always had a secret obsession with balloons design… it’s such a cool talent to have and wanted to see if I could pull it off. We did, but not with out challenges. If your reading my blog, take my advise and DO hire a professional. It’s defiantly not as easy as You Tube makes it look.
How it the party started
It all started in the pool of course…. with a fun private pool party for Samara and her friends. They great time playing and cooling off from the North Carolina sun. Afterwards the children got dresses in White T-shirts and jeans (the t-shirts will come in handy later) and had their face painted while enjoying pizza. We kept the party room a secrete for the kids, which was driving them wild. It’s funny how kids always want what they can’t have. So after all the kids faces were painted (even the boys had their arms done) it was time.
So keeping true to our clients vision, the main attraction was the glow/sweet treats bar. Surrounding the bar were custom UV glow balloons shaped floral designs. Exactly what Tao wanted. The kids mouths dropped in awwww. I believe I heard “this is so cool” and “oh my god, killer” while they decked themselves out in glow gear. Glasses, Fiber optic hair pins, bracelets, necklaces you name it. Not skipping a beat many even dove into the Sweet treat table of homemade cotton candy, pop rocks, rock candy, ring pops, candy dots and the party stopping cake by Kristi’s Tasty Treat.
The party was spectacular. Some other cool elements included the glow punch, the glow in the dark placesetting and centerpieces. After the party Samara and her friends raved about how fun the party was and how it was the best one any of them have ever been too.
I love making clients happy, bust most of all making the 11 year the talk of her school.
